Charity Concert

Stourport-on-Severn Brass Band welcomed Steve Gittens as MD after a few auditions. Steve's first "outing" was in the Methodist Church in Evesham conducting the band for a free concert in aid of the Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Fund. The band played various crowd favourites, many of which are available on the CD!! The concert was also a chance to play the Regionals piece of "Variations". There was a retiring collection which raised £472 for the Leukaemia fund.

Charity Concert

Rock band The Ferret Convention, a five- piece band who perform music from the 60s, 70s and 80s sang their hearts out for charity in a fund-raising gig in Evesham over the Bank Holiday Weekend, helping to raise £900 for the Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust.

The gig was held at The Railway Hotel in the town, and was organised by the band's manager Jill Goldstrong.

The proceeds from the night are set to be further boosted by a donation from Barclay's Bank.

Sue Sollis, founder of the Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust, said the amount raised had exceeded all expectations.

"I'm absolutely thrilled with the generosity of all concerned," she said.

"I believe this is the most money the Railway Hotel has ever raised for a charity in an evening.

"My grateful thanks go to the landlords and the Ferret Convention who performed magnificently."
