Charity Concert by Gordon Giltrap

It was a varied and interesting year for The Trust with the first staged event seeing the welcome return of The Trust's Patron Gordon Giltrap. Gordon held a two night Charity Concert  at The Fleece Inn, Bretforton raising an impressive £1,731.00. This was an increase of over £600 on the previous year.  The concert held over the weekend of 21st/22nd April 2007 was a total sell out, being staged in the popular venue's 'Medieval Barn'.

Gordon's guitar work left the audience spell bound as he once again performed to an incredibly high standard. 'The Gordon Giltrap Concert', which is ever increasing in its popularity, is held around St George's day each year to raise vital funds for The Trust.

There was great community support with extra seating supplied by Bretforton's Royal British Legion and Bretforton Silver Band. The staging was kindly loaned with grateful thanks to Weston Subedge Village Hall Committee.

The Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust would like to thank The Fleece Inn, Bretforton, for the use of it's beautiful medieval barn and a glass plaque auctioned by Nigel (The Fleece Inn) and grateful thanks to the following raffle prize donors;

Donation by Per Una

The Trust received an extra boost when 'Per Una' the Marks & Spencer women's clothing label, responded to a financial request by presenting the Trust with £3,000. The money was used to purchase an electric bed, a special mattress and a syringe driver for Worcester Hospital. Imported from Germany, the bed easily moves a patient's lying position at the touch of a button and is proving to be a real success, according to patients and staff on the Laurel 3 ward. We are extremely grateful for Per Una's support.

Charity Rock Concert
In June there was another musical event - a rock concert was held featuring the local rock band Psychowrath and Birmingham based band Hanging Doll. The event was held at Evesham Working Mens Club, raising an impressive £1,162.00

Founder of The Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust Sue Sollis said, "I am very grateful for all the hard work the two bands put into providing a great evening. I would also like to give thanks for the use of the venue, which is ideally located in the centre of town."

Money raised will go towards funding essential equipment for the well being and care of patients with leukaemia.

Long Distance Bike Ride

Special congratulations to the participants of the 'John O'Groat's to Lands End' bike ride. Three local Evesham men rode the length of the country to raise funds for The Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust. Paul Edmondson, Oli Steward and Nick Berry commenced peddling on Monday 16th April 2007 and aimed to cover 1,000 miles in 10 days. They reached Lands End at 2.30pm on Wednesday 25th April. There was a welcoming party of approximately 60 people waiting at the finishing line, which included friends, family and The Trust's Founder Member, Sue Sollis. The men arrived tired but cheerful, having raised in excess of five thousand pounds.
